      What is Lowvelder Got Talent?

      MBOMBELA – Does the Lowveld have talent? You bet it does.
      Most people regardless of age have talent, but they are often shy to show it off, or do not have the platform on which to do so.
      Whatever talent you have, Lowvelder would love to see it.
      Local dancers, singers, performers, actors and models now have the opportunity to quickly and easily share their talent thanks to the birth of Lowvelder’s Got Talent.
      This new venture was recently launched in collaboration with The Barnyard Theatre White River and associated industry specialists.
      Entries are now open.
      Entrants will here provide a headshot for modelling categories and a 30-second video for performing arts categories. Should you have trouble uploading a video, this can be WhatsApped to 062 731 1854, accompanied by your name, surname and email address.
      Alternatively, you can enter at i’langa Mall on September 11, Riverside Mall on September 18 and White River Crossing on September 25. A photo of every contestant will be taken at the scouting session hosted at the various venues or from online entries, as well as a 30-second video for performing arts divisions. Semi-finalists will be selected based on their photos and videos, at the discretion of the organisers.
      Entry into Lowvelder’s Got Talent is free. However, if you are selected as a semi-finalist, you will be required to visit the Lowvelder offices at a stipulated registration time on October 1 from 11:00 to 17:00 as per SMS (the official SMS number is 062 731 1854 – any other number is invalid) to pay a registration fee of R250. Participants are to be present, or a legal guardian can register on their behalf, to collect relevant information and documentation for the workshop and to receive competition details.
      Regional semi-finalists for Mpumalanga will be announced on September 29.
      A workshop will then be hosted on October 16 at . Times per division will be sent via SMS and will be in the registration letter.?
      Finalists will be required to attend the final event at The Barnyard Theatre White River, on October 30. The times and dates are to be discussed at the workshop.
      For schoolgoing participants under the age of 18 years: There will be an opportunity for an individual participant to win R5 000 for their school as well as a group performance to win a sum of R5 000 for their school. The overall winners of individual performances and group performance, i.e. singing, dancing, acting and modelling across all age categories, will be entered into a live draw and the winning participating schools will be drawn on the day for individual performance as well as a group performance. A total of R10 000 will be given away to a school with a group winner or an individual winner.

            Lowvelder‘s Got Talent

            Terms and conditions

            1. The?Lowvelder‘s Got Talent competition has three modelling age categories (5-7 years, 8-12 years, and 13-19 years) and a junior and senior age category per division for the performing arts: singing, dancing and acting (7-12 years and 13 and older).

            The promoter reserves the right to request identity documents to confirm identity of the winners. The contestants of the competition must reside in South Africa.

            2. The promoter is?Lowvelder

            3. This competition is open from August 27 and ends at midnight on October 1. Any entries received after the closing date will not be considered.

            4. Any director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant of the promoter, the marketing service providers or any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by these entities, including their spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members, are not allowed to enter.

            5. Entry into?Lowvelder‘s Got Talent is free.             7. Photos for modelling and a 30-second video for performing arts contestants will be required for the entry process. Photos will be uploaded to?Lowvelder‘s Facebook page. Contestants are requested to share their branded photos to their Facebook profile or to the parent’s Facebook profile. Please like the applicable regional?Lowvelder?Facebook page. An SMS will be sent when your photo is uploaded and ready for you to share.

            8. Regional semi-finalists for Mpumalanga will be announced on September 29. The registration payment will be at the?Lowvelder?office on October 1 from 11:00 to 17:00. An SMS will be sent as a reminder beforehand. The registration fee of R250 will be payable for individuals as well as for each participant in a group performance.

            9. A workshop will be hosted on October 16 at The Barnyard Theatre.

            Times per division will be sent via SMS and will be in the registration letter. A door fee of R350 will be payable for the final event. Four guests per contestant will be allowed. This door fee is compulsory per individual. A T-shirt will need to be bought for the final event, at R150. All travelling and accommodation costs are for the contestant.

            This fee of R350 and R150 will be payable only at the workshop.

            10. The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

            11. Finalists will be required to attend the final event at The Barnyard Theatre White River, October 30. Times and dates to be discussed at workshop.

            12. The organisers could request the winners to avail themselves when required. The pictures taken for marketing purposes will be used at the discretion of the organisers and will not be negotiable. No liability will be taken for the use of theses photos.

            13. The objective of the competition is to primarily create a platform for contestants’ exposure and not income streams for the contestants.

            14. The participant and legal guardian provide?Lowvelder‘s Got Talent and its brand partners the rights to use, reuse, publish and republish any photography, video clips and or any other promotional material.

            15. By signing the entry form, you give?Lowvelder?and their brand partners (sponsors) permission to contact you.

            16. Neither the organisers nor any of their associates and/or any of their affiliations will be held liable for any damages, loss or injury, in any way whatsoever, be it of an accidentally nature and/or gross negligence. The legal guardian/participant must make him/herself aware of the terms and conditions and agree to partake in the competition at their own risk.

            17. A copy of these rules can be found on the relevant?Lowvelder‘s Got Talent web page, the link to be provided by SMS throughout the competition period.

            18. The promoter reserves the right to disqualify any claim if fraud or cheating is suspected, including without limitation through the manipulation of code or otherwise frequently falsifying data.

            19. The promoter shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged, delayed or digitally corrupt entries for any reason whatsoever. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.

            20. All prizes are not exchangeable or transferrable.

            21. The names of the winners, once contacted, will be published on the relevant social media pages.

            22. The promoter reserves the right to use the images taken of the winners for publicity purposes in any manner they deem fit, without further remuneration being made payable to the winners. However, the winners have the right to object to these images being used by written notification to the promoter at?Lowvelder’s Got Talent email address, [email protected]

            23. The promoter shall have the right to change or terminate the promotional competition immediately and without notice. In the event of such change or termination, all participants agree to waive any rights that they have in respect of this promotional competition and acknowledge that they will have no recourse against the promoter or its agents.

            24. Neither the promoter, its agents, its associated companies, nor any directors, officers, or employees of such, shall be liable for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect, consequential, or otherwise arising from any cause whatsoever, which may be suffered by the participant.

            25. Our brand partners and coaches reserve the right to issue contracts or coaching to any contestant of their choice and not necessarily the winners.

            26. In the event of any Covid-19 regulations that come into place, the organisers reserve the right to change dates. No refunds will be issued in the event of a date change. Covid protocols will be followed. It is also up to the participants to follow the law and guidelines.

            27.
