Sarah came by the zoo Tuesday for Hannah's first visit to the zoo. Hannah was five months old earlier this month. At a time when children often spend more time engaged by electronic devices and less time outside exploring nature, a trip to the zoo provides the perfect mix of fun and learning. And, as you can see by the wide-eyed expression on Hannah's face, you're never too young -- or too old, for that matter -- to come to the zoo. See you soon!

Goddard School Pre-K Graduation
The Goddard School for Early Childhood Education celebrated their pre-kindergarten graduation at Dickerson Park Zoo on Saturday, May 19. Nearly 30 children, dressed in caps and gowns, accepted their certificates for completing Goddard's pre-K program. These children are heading to kindergarten in the fall.
The featured speaker at today's ceremony was Dr. Tamera Jahnke, dean of the College of Natural and Applied Sciences at Missouri State University. Dr. Jahnke wowed the kids and their families with "It's a Gas!," simple chemistry experiments.
