The daffodils have bloomed, and spring break is a memory. But, before long, Dickerson Park Zoo will be buzzing with excitement as hundreds ... thousands ... of children visit for school field trips. If you are planning a school field trip, here are a few tips to keep in mind:
- Do a head count of children and adults.
- Speed up your entry into the zoo by collecting money for admission fees from individual students into a single envelope to give to the admission gate staff, using a school purchase order or charging to a credit card.
- If you plan "brown bag" lunches, you can leave the zoo to eat in the playground park and return after lunch to finish your zoo visit -- just check in with the admission gate staff before you leave and upon reentry. We ask that you not bring your lunches into the zoo with you -- for the animals' safety.
